'Aki'Aki, Sporobuolus virginicus

Description 'Aki'Aki, is a Buffalo grass, native of the southern United States. It is a creeping perennial used for lawns in warm areas. The leaf blades are stiff and sharply pointed. The flower spike is thick, and flat, measuring from 2 to 4 inches long. 'Aki'Aki resembles Bermuda grass but is larger.

Habitat 'Aki'Aki is a sand-binding rush grass, common on Hawaiian shores. It is a creeping perennial with stiff branching stems 3 to 16 inches in height.
